Born September 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Susan Adams of Whirlwind in Logan County. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph “Jack” Workman on July 24, 1998, six sisters, Amy Tribett, Ellen Adams, Faye Clark, Wanda Keener, Georgia Spry and Janet Lee Adams, and three brothers, Leonard Adams, George Adams and Holly Adams.
Mrs. Workman was a teacher in Logan and Lincoln Counties for 38 years. She was a member of the WVEA and LCEA, a former member and treasurer for the D.A.V., former member of Harts Community Development, and was director of the Lincoln County 4H Club at Atenville Elementary School for several years. She was a member of Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist Church since 1978.
Survivors include two sons, William Franklin “Bill” (Brenda) Workman of Hamlin and Richard “Dick” (Jewel) Workman of Toney Addition; one sister, Freda Chapman of Proctorville, Ohio; two brothers, Kessler Adams of Raleigh, N.C., and Billy Gene Adams of Barboursville; six wonderful grandchildren, Dean “Dino” Workman (fiancée Stephanie Pritchard) and Jessica (J.L.) Frye, both of Hamlin, Nicole (Mark) Dalton of Ferrellsburg, Tara (Paul) Warner of Huntersville, N.C., Joshua Workman (fiancée Carrie Adkins) of Lincolnton, N.C., and Jacob Workman, serving in the U.S. Air Force, of Valdosta, Ga.; eight precious great-grandchildren, Whitley and Kylie Workman and Austin Pritchard, all of Hamlin, Piper, Henry Jack and Georgia Dalton, all of Ferrellsburg, and Preston and Audrey Dingess of Little Harts.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, at the Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist at Harts with Rev. Kenny Kirk and Rev. Herbert Triplett Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Frank and Susan Adams Cemetery at Harts.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville and two hours prior to the services Monday at the church.
