For those wondering if the Logan County Commission will be holding another free trash dump this year, the answer is yes. The trash collection will begin this week, but there is a new requirement before you can dump your refuse at the free sites. You have to prove your residency in Logan County.

“The difference this year than past is that we will require some form of identification that you are a resident of Logan County,” said Rocky Adkins, Logan County Administrator. “Our past cleanups have been rather expensive and we want to make sure we are helping the citizens of Logan County who pay the taxes.”

Adkins said that a driver’s license with their mailing address or some type of utility bill will suffice.

“They will be asked to show some type of ID before they will be allowed to dump,” said Adkins.

Residents of Man can dump their trash on Fri., Sept. 28, and Sat., Sept. 29, at the former Man Hospital site. Collection for the Chapmanville area will be Fri.-Sat., Oct. 5-6 at the rock quarry on Sawmill Road and for the Logan area will be Fri.-Sat., Oct. 12-13 in Deskins Addition. Hours for dumping at each site will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Adkins said the collection sites will not take e-waste, which is electronic waste such as TVs, monitors and computers.

“We’re working on what is called e-cleanup,” said Adkins. “But that will be at a later date. We’re asking that all electronics, including TVs, be withheld.”

Adkins said only 10 old tires per residential person will be accepted Tires will not be accepted from any businesses.

“We hope the community enjoys the cleanup as they have in the past; they have been huge successes for the county” said Adkins. “The Logan County Commission is allowing citizens the opportunity to clean up our county for all the tourists and for a better personal feeling about your property.”

Thank you, Logan Co. Commission and everyone involved with this, as this is so very much needed.

Good idea to ask for ID. Why can't the same apply when people vote? Dumb Democrats want their convicts and illegal aliens to vote for Obama; they can't do that very easy when they have to show ID.

drpepper your warped mind doesnt understand the point that some people, especially in cities, do not have driver's license. Republicans who want to win districts, have cooked up this scheme in order to supress the vote of the poor who do not have a driver's license.

Vote for Obama will be because people are sick of the Republican attitude that only the rich matter and the working class are just stiffs for the corporations. Just ask your man Mitt! He thinks corporations are people too.

drpepper, why must you give a political view on every article, when it doesn't apply? We are talking about the clean up days for Logan county. Anything you say just drives me to vote for the democrats. I could call you a few names right now, but I'll just pray for you tonight. I will be glad when this election is over. Meanwhile, please grow up.
