Area cops make more arrests

Local law enforcement officers have made more recent weapons-related arrests according to police reports.

• Robert Scott Hamilton, 42, of Holden, was arrested in Logan County by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.T. Robinson for brandishing a weapon and assault and battery on Nov. 7.

Hamilton was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 5 p.m.

• David Lee Grimmett, 18, of Holden, was arrested in Logan County by Trooper Robinson for brandishing a weapon, assault and battery charges on Nov. 7.

Grimmett was booked at the regional jail at 5 p.m.

According to police reports, the WVSP was dispatched to a fight call in the Whitman area allegedly involving Hamilton and Grimmett. The report said Grimmett tried to hit Hamilton in the face with brass knuckles. The report said Grimmett struck Hamilton on the arm during the short scuffle. The report also states that Hamilton brandished a pistol and threatened Grimmett.

• Deborah Lynn Hall, 44, of Chapmanville, was arrested in Logan County by Trooper R.L. Frye of the WVSP on Nov. 9 for brandishing a weapon and domestic assault.

According to police reports, the officer responded to a call from the victim and was told by the victim that Hall became irate over not having medication which led to the dispute.

The report said Hall allegedly pulled a knife on the victim during the altercation.

Hall was booked at the regional jail at 1 a.m.

• Michael Ray Hughes, 27, of Mt. Gay, was arrested in Logan County by WVSP Trooper G. W. Collins for assault and conspiracy on Oct. 27. According to police reports on Oct. 22, the officer received a complaint from the victim who told him “she had received several threats of bodily injury as well as threats of her house being burned by the accused.”

A summons was issued for his arrest and Hughes was taken into custody and booked at the regional jail at 11:30 p.m.
