BRANCHLAND, W.Va. - Betty Lou Eplin, 72, of Branchland, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 19, 2008, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Born October 19, 1935, at Big Creek, she was a daughter of the late Ed Hileman and Mae Burton Conley. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Hershel Ray Eplin; one daughter, Debbie Sue Eplin; one sister, Marie Dingess, and three brothers, Raymond Hileman, Kelly Hileman and Carlas Hileman.

Betty attended Camp Branch Baptist Church and the Chapmanville Church of God. Her hobbies included gardening, walking and playing with the grandchildren. She also attended Chapmanville High School.

Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Brenda (Charles) Conley of Granite Falls, N.C., and Sandy (Cecil) Porter, Barbara Eplin and Sherry Eplin (Harold Harvey), all of Branchland; two sons, Douglas (Kathy) Eplin of Chapmanville and Billy Eplin of North Carolina; three sisters, Ruth Kirkendoll, Sally Neil and Molly Mullins, all of Chapmanville; seven precious grandchildren, Lisa, D.J., Mary Lou, Marion "Moe," Ryan, Jessica and Stanley; one great-grandchild, Jordon, and soon to be born great-grandchild, Makayla Faith, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at noon Monday, September 22, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. James Mounts and Rev. James Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at the Mullins Cemetery at Caney Branch Road at Chapmanville.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
