BAISDEN, W.Va. — Bobby Carter, 67, of Baisden, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, February 9, 2009, at his residence.

Born August 11, 1941, at Justice, he was a son of the late Rufus and Hazel Bailey Carter. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Gene Carter.

Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard, a coal miner, and a member of the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church at Baisden. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to love and cherish his memory include his loving wife of 42 years, Patsy Glandon Carter; a loving daughter, Andrea (Buell) Ellis of Baisden; a beloved son, Timothy (Patricia) Carter of Athens; three precious grandsons, Christian, Collin and Cameron Carter of Athens; a special niece who was like a daughter, Angela Simms of Baisden; a special nephew, Marty Carter (fiancé Angie Bailey) of Gastonia N.C., and a host of other dear family and friends.

Services were held Thursday, February 12, at the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church with Elder Hobart Hamilton, Elder Bobby Scott and Elder Richard Staton officiating. Burial will follow in the Glandon Cemetery at Baisden.

Pallbearers were Hank Lester, Justin and Jeremy Bare, Lynuel, Mark, Andrew and Steven Glandon, Ethan and Jeremy May, Frank Porter, Billy Ray Lester, and Jay Lockard.

Honorary pallbearers were Marty Carter, James Henderson, Dencil Glandon, Jerry and Jackie Thompson, his brethren of the church and special friend, Teddy Varney.

Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert was in charge of the arrangements.
