The Logan County Board of Education hosted their Awards Celebration of County, State and National Winners Thursday evening at the Coalfield Jamboree.

Students recognized were presented a certificate listing their achievement by Logan County School Superintendent Wilma Zigmond.

Opening entertainment was provided by Logan County students who are members of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus.

Academic Challenge Regional Winners: Jacob Asbury, Brooke Burgess, Isaac Collins, Katie Collins, Grace Crosby, Gunar Curry, S. SkillsUSA Competition: Brandon Gibson and Mark Lawson, both won 3rd Place in Computer Technology-Web Design; Chris Mitchell won 2nd Place in HVAC & R, and John Sansone and Mike Wilson won place in Robotics & Automation Technology.

WV History Bowl team winners: Chapmanville Middle School, 1st place, team members are Alex Berry, Andrew Bias, Joe Phipps and Lasyapriya Pidaparthi, and Logan Middle School, 3rd place, team members Logan Adkins, Kendah L. Bowen, Elijah Coleman and Bethany Cook.
