FORT GAY, W.Va. — Clayton Junior Grimmett, 72, of Fort Gay, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, of a sudden illness.

Born September 29, 1940, at Christian, he was a son of the late Morma and Nina Goodman Grimmett.

Mr. Grimmett retired from the furniture business in Dayton, Ohio.

His wife, Shirley Grimmett; a daughter, Teresa Earp; a grandson, Terry Lee Mosley; three brothers, Bill McQuithy, Jackie Grimmett and Bradley Grimmett; two sisters, Shirley Grimmett and Clara Decharme, and a son-in-law, Roger Elkins, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Joanna Kay Mosley of Paddle Creek, Clara Sue Elkins of Genoa, and Mary Riverio of Michigan; three sons, Clayton “Bub” Grimmett Jr. of Fort Gay, and Dwayne and Jack Grimmett of Genoa; four brothers, Darrell Grimmett of Indiana, Terry Lee Grimmett of Paddle Creek, Roy “Linnie” Grimmett of Tennessee, and Orville Grimmett of Madison; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends including a special friend, Elmer Ratcliff of Fort Gay.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at the Oak Grove Church by Brother Luther Dingess. Burial will follow at the Terry Lee Mosley/Grimmett Cemetery on Paddle Creek.

Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Morris Funeral Home of Wayne is in charge of the arrangements.
