A Chapmanville native will try to win a million dollars on tomorrow night's airing of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".

Sam Murray, a bartender from Philadelphia and a native of Chapmanville, will be a contestant in the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" hot seat tomorrow.

Hosted by the Emmy Award-winning Meredith Vieira, "Millionaire" can be seen in the Charleston-Huntington area on WSAZ (NBC), weekdays at 2 p.m.

"Millionaire" premiered in its eighth season in syndication this fall.

The "Ask The Expert" lifeline enables contestants to connect with a pre-determined "Expert" via a live face-to-face Skype video call, after they correctly answer the $5,000 question. "Time Magazine" columnist Joel Stein will take over as "Expert" for shows airing November 4-6.

Murray is a 1983 graduate of Chapmanville High School and is the son of Estel Murray, who is also from Chapmanville and is a municipal court judge in Chapmanville. His mother, Antonia Flaherty, is from Bellmawr, NJ. Although he's lived in Philadelphia for 19 years, Murray said he always gets comments on his thick West Virginia accent, but he said he wouldn't change it for the world since he says it gets him good tips and "the girls like it!"

Murray currently is a bartender/server at the Octo Waterfront Grille in Philadelphia. He said he once took a 22-person table's order without writing it down. Customers are usually so impressed with his steel-trap memory that they give him bigger tips, he said, adding that he's hoping his memory serves him well in the "Millionaire" hot seat.

Murray will use fellow Philly bartenders as "Phone A Friends" (PAFs). "Millionaire" contestants are allowed to have three friends on stand-by to serve as potential "PAFs" for their Millionaire appearance. Murray chose three friends who all happen to be fellow Philly bartenders — Nick Mazziotti, Scott Innes and Daulton Pownell.

Murray said that if he wins big on the show, he will fulfill his dream of going to nursing school.

When Murray was younger, he was in the Navy and worked at a Naval Hospital. He said he has always wanted to go back to nursing school to be an emergency room nurse and he's hoping that with some "Millionaire" money, he can now do that. He also said he would like to travel and try to professionally record some of the songs he's written over the years.

Murray said he is single and has one 22-year-old son, Tim.

Murray's brother-in-law, Tim, came to NYC with him and sat in the "Millionaire" audience as his on-air companion for the show.

Murray said he was a little nervous to be in the hot seat — not because of the questions, but because of Meredith Viera. Leading up to his "Millionaire" taping, Sam said he had a dream that he asked Meredith to marry him, but she turned him down saying "I'm already married, you fool!"
