CHIEF LOGAN STATE PARK — The Chief Logan Rec Center is only weeks away from opening and memberships will go on sale Tuesday.
Rec Center Director Tim McCoy said memberships would make great Christmas gifts.
“Next week, we will be at the Rec Center doing pre-opening tours,” McCoy said. “What we’ll do is show people the progress we’ve made so far within the building and we’ll also be able to sell people membership Christmas gifts.”
McCoy said people wanting to get early memberships will get a certificate that can be brought in after the center opens to be activated.
“Memberships make great stocking stuffers and what better gift can you give than health and fitness,” McCoy said.
McCoy said the Rec Center opening has been delayed slightly because some of the workout equipment is still on order.
“The building, for the most part, is finished and there are just a couple of little things we need to do,” McCoy said. “The holdup right now is getting our equipment and furniture in and all of that is in the process of being purchased.”
Each membership will have a $25 application fee and it will cost a family of four $360 per year and $75 for each additional dependent. An adult membership costs $250 and a senior citizen membership costs $190. A student membership is $160 and the daily swim pass is $10 for an adult, $8 for students and $25 for a family of four, with each additional person $5.
The Chief Logan Rec Center will be open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
McCoy will be in the Chief Logan Rec Center on Tuesday from 1-5 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
