OMAR, W.Va. — Mr. Donald G. “Tiny” Adkins, 59, of Omar, was born October 20, 1953, at Ypsilanti, Mich., a son of the late Raymond B. and Merril Deloris Canterbury Adkins. He departed this life Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Adkins was a former warehouse manager, strip miner, newspaper deliveryman and of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Also preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Leon and Hester Adkins; maternal grandparents, Jesse and Rebecca Canterbury; mother and father-in-law, Maude and Willard Spurlock; sister, Delores Jean Adkins, and brother-in-law, Shelby.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Spurlock Adkins; special sister that resided with his wife and him, Imogene Spurlock; brother, Ed Adkins of Justice Addition; special niece, Tina (Meade) Williamson of Justice Addition; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathy, Gladys, Connie, Leroy, Eugene and Dale, and a host of family and special friends.
Memorial services will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at the Chauncey Freewill Baptist Church’s kitchen with Rev. Leroy Spurlock officiating. At his request, Donald’s body will be cremated.
