LOGAN, W.Va. — Corporal Gregory “Greg” Allen Eplin, 46, of Logan, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born July 17, 1966, in Logan, he was a son of Helen Robinson Eplin of Logan and the late Benny Eplin.

Greg is a Corporal with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, a former member of the W.Va. National Guard, attended the Mt. Gay Freewill Baptist Church, and a member of the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriffs Association.

Including his mother, he is survived by his wife Angie McCloud Eplin; one stepson, Jeremy Music of Logan; one step-daughter, Meghan Sexton of Logan; four brothers, Johnny Eplin and Benny Eplin, both of Logan, Tim Finch of Greensboro, N.C., and Ricky Eplin of Pascagoula, Miss.; two sisters, Sharon McQueen of Connersville, Ind., and Judy Catha of Las Vegas, Nev.; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws; a special niece, Brittany Eplin, and a special friend, Jack Ely

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at the Logan Coalfield Theatre, Main Street, Logan with the Rev. Layton Lockhart and Judge Irene Berger officiating.

Friends may call on the family from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office will serve as Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Michaloff, Dwayne Evans, David White, Tim Wiley, Randy Bowen and members of the City of Logan Police Dept.

A special thanks to the David Lee Cancer Center, Kanawha Co. Sheriff’s Office, Kanawha Co. Deputy Assoc, staff of 4th floor at LRMC, staff of 5 South at CAMC Memorial, and the City of Logan.
