Sarge I can understand the blow to your pride. It sounds like you have let down your guard in other things or she wouldn’t have tried that. If you don’t take control, pretty soon she won’t do a thing she’s told. I can’t think of a hard enough word to describe your unfortunate plight but if it is uxorious (look it up) you may be domestically doomed. Remind your wife that at your age there are five and one half women for every man. That usually works. If she still tries to dominate, I will give you four of the ones ascribed to me.

When I was writing the piece about Coach Akers, my mind went blank on the nickname of of the old Sharples High School.

Just read the story about Coach Akers being injured and in the hopsital. Makes no difference if you were a Wildcat, Hillbilly, Tiger, Wolfpack or Pony Express, it is time to stop and say a prayer or two for this Logan County icon.

OK People of the USA, we are in deep kimchee as far as rehiring our leaders. If the USA can not operate in a profitmode why do we acxt in such a self-destructive mode and keep unproductive employees. Just waht does "We the people mean"? At this stage of the game it means "We the sheep". Nichts war? I am sorry folks but those who provide for those who expect it without one ounce of input are losing the dream. Within the next five yearswe will all probably be begging the elitits for bread to eat.

On January second I concluded a guest book comment that Hugh Fortney and Ralph Brown were my favorite teachers. Hugh died on 1-19-2013. In June 2012 I saw Don Weaver, a 1958 Logan High class mate; whom I had not seen for fifty four years, Don mentioned to me that Hugh had taught him welding and that welding became the main part of his business. Obie Craddock, John McCloud and Wendell Hendricks came to the 22 reunion in 2005.They had visited Hugh and Ralph the day before. They expressed an appreciation and affection for both of them. I am thankful to have known them.

Well i've watched so many episodes of law&order i think i'm smart as a new york lawyer,and such a detective i bet i could find that needle in the haystack,but finding the haystack is a bit of a problem.I don't know if this is cabin fever or if i'm a little stir crazy,i caught myself thinking today when i walked out in front of the garage,just to get out for a minute,that even running a weedeater would be better than all this inside time.my wife says i could do some of the work in the house like moping and waxing the floor but i know i'd break out in hives or maybe go into broom shock or something terrible so i guess i'll just suffer through more of this law&order till the weather turns.then she says i'll just go outside and start wishing it would cool down a little.well i see benson and stabler are about to collar another crook so i guess i'd best give'em a hand.

More people need to spend their time looking for opportunities to improve their economic status. The effort of too many people goes toward not losing their free lunch. The reasons or excuses for not working are many. Some reasons are no fault of the person seeking a job, some are otherwise. The longtime unemployed will become accustomed to a new lifestyle. Their efforts at finding a job will become perfunctory and will eventually cease. How long will unemployment benefits be extended? After a person’s normal unemployment benefits are expired; I believe that a job in a public works program should be provided. Returning to a private job would be much easier physically and mentally. The closer a person is to retirement age; the more reluctant he will be to return to work.

Borrowing money to pay people for working is bad enough but borrowing money to pay people for not working is careless and irresponsible. A public works program would be more favorable than an extended welfare program. The recession and unemployment problem has lost its temporary status. Who will and when will the public debt be paid? We could sell our public land to China. What will our progeny reap? Do you think that the immigration plan is to bankrupt and destroy this country, so that no one will want to come here? Serendipity! The congress and the president get the credit for the country’s woes.

well the weather cleared up enough to get out for a while,my old buddy came by,i hadn't seen him since the day before christmas he said he had been sick and house bound for six days.we got cought up on all the gossip and the things that have happened in our neighborhood and around the area lately,things sure have changed.our little community has always had kind of a bad name,but the things that have happened lately have really put us low down on the list toward scraping the bottom.i've lived here sixty years and times surely have changed.i remember years ago you could walk up or down the road and folks would be sitting on the porch or out in the yard,they would always speak most of the time they would invite you in for a coffee and pass time and just be good friends.
