For Shame, For Shame,

I am so disappointed in the ones that resort to name calling. If you don't agree with someone's statements or policies, then post your opinions and if possible the facts as to why you either agree or disagree. I respect everyone's opinion and look forward to hearing and debating what you have to say, just wished that facts were more in tune on the postings. Name calling shows one's enmity and immaturity. How great it is to "agree to disagree" with no prejudices.

It is my belief that an American citizen has the right to bear arms. He may own gun(s)for hunting, and a personal handgun(s) for self-preservation. However, there is no just reason for anyone (outside possibly police and/or military personnel)to own any type of an assault weapon. I have never heard of any gun of this type being used for anything good; these weapons usually end up in the hands of drug lords, killers, and thieves. This type of weapon should definitely be banned. Like it or not, and I don't care, this is my opinion.

Ah Gee! Mr. Meade,

Sorry that you did not understand the contexts of my little sentence, of which I used your term "bootlicker". "So call me a bootlicker if you wish", does not imply that you have called me a bootlicker, but might imply that I give you permission to do so, if you don't agree with my preceding statements.

OSHA is Occupational Safety and Health Administrations and it is an agency of the United States Department of Labor. Its mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and occupational fatality by issuing and enforcing rules called standards for workplace safety and health. Please, I am asking a question. Would the person you are referring to as becoming head of OSHA be Sen. Charles Schumer of NY? If so, I will have to investage further, because I have missed this being on the news. If I have the right person, you're right he is very strong Anti-gun activist, also watch out for Meg Whitman of Calif. she believes in tough gun laws against assault weapon and handgun control. And since we are on the subject, here is what the Gun Control Act of (1968) and Firearms Owner's Protection Act of (1986) have to say.....Congress stated, that it did not intend to "place any undue or unnecessary Federal restrictions or burdens on law-abiding citizens with respect to the acquisition, possession, or use of firearms appropriate to....personal protection, or any other lawful activity." Now, I bet you are saying, that I am for gun control. Well, I feel that all citizens have the right to a handgun or/and a gun of sport and only then if registered. As for assault weapons (weapons of rapid fire) the citizen has no purpose for having one. So I guess I agree with Meg Whitman that handgun control is appropriate.....

suggesting that the military pay for their health insurance is the most irresponsible statement a commander and chief has ever made.Is he trying to weaken our defenses for some personal reason? Who would join the military service under such conditions.Should they pay for their own weapons and transportation. This reminds me of a ruler who would have you make bricks without straw. If congerss doesn't remove this man we may not survive to vote him out.

It's the people that are working as Govs,Sens, and anyone that is working directly with him need to wake up. They know that they are finished. This is a bunch of morons working with a Jackass. I can't use the word I wanted. I think the majority of the people are sorry they voted for him. The ones in the grave yards can't say anything about it. I don't think we had enough stupid people to put a Jackass in office. If you ever had to work with one,you would know what I mean. Makes you wonder why impeachment proceedings have not started yet. All I can say is, ( git err dun ) , Soon. Yes I'm a hillbilly, and proud of it. I was back home in Logan This past Saturday. Loved it back there.

Some of the comments are so true, and funny. Virginia 28 commented about citizenblue, and i laughed out loud. I also wonder what kind of wacky weed he is smoking. Just joking!!!. I disagree with everything obama is doing. I didn't vote for him, thank God. I hope the country can recover in my lifetime for the CHANGES he is making.

"Way to go Senator Randolph and Senator Byrd"

Must mean Rockefeller, since Jennings Randolph answered another roll call in 1998.

But, you are right that the president (lower case for effect) is going to run this country into a cold, dark hole because of his apparent hatred for coal energy and his desire to spend as much money this country doesn't have as fast as possible.

That great "sucking sound" Perot warned us about is about to become the spiraling of the toilet as we get flushed into the status of a economically and morally bankrupt also-ran.

Maybe history will be kind to America and remind future generation this was a great nation before the South Side of Chicago political machine strangled the life out of Lady Liberty.

Deweycan. Here we go again I know i am not much at writing but i never called anybody a boot licker. I said i would never be one. Go back and read it again and you will see. Also i was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about mr obama getting ready to appoint a new head of o.s.h.a. And thiis man is very much against people owning guns. I don't know what osha has any business in what people own they are supposed to make sure work places are safe. I must confess i have shot a lot of innocent cans and bullseye targets, maybe osha thinks they should be protected. I have been trying to tell people to start calling or e-mailing their representatives. I hope what i heard is wrong but with what we have in washington anything is possible i am not talking about one person all of them can't be trusted.
