VARNEY, W.Va. — Henry L. Morrison Jr., 73, of Varney, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Charleston following a lingering illness.

Born February 25, 1939, at Sutton, he was a son of the late Henry Morrison Sr. and Audrey Morrison Tingler.

Henry was an Army veteran, serving in Korea, a retired manager for Flowers Baking Company, and a member of the Varney Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Loretta McCormick Morrison; three sons, Rodney (Linette) Morrison of Taylorville, Gary Morrison of Newtown, Timothy (Fawn) Morrison of Varney, and Billy Morrison of Hickory, N.C.; five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicole, Kyle, Morgan and Amanda Morrison; one great-grandson, Kaiden; one brother, John Camden of Sutton; three sisters, Doris Stewart and Ann Gumm, both of Sutton, and Betty Harris of Waverly, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Henry made several acquaintances, both personal and professional, throughout his life; he never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by all.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Snodgrass and Pastor Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at the Musick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, February 16, 2013.
