Hurricane ran all over the Logan High School football team on Friday night as the No. 18-ranked Redskins won 62-29 over the Wildcats at Logan Stadium.
With the win, Hurricane improved to 5-4 and kept its Class AAA playoff hopes alive.
Tyler Pate threw four touchdown passes – three of them to Roger Turner – to lead the Redskins.
Logan dropped to 1-8 on the season with the loss and dropped its seventh straight game.
Dustin Botsch ran for a touchdown and returned a kickoff for another score for the Wildcats. Botsch rushed 14 times for 101 yards and scored on a 56-yard TD run. He also reached pay dirt on an 85-yard kickoff return.
Logan quarterback David Brown was 6-of-13 passing for 114 yards and two TDs. One of his scores went for 20 yards to Khaleel Reynolds, while the other was a 25-yard strike to Jason Spurlock.
Reynolds had two catches for 32 yards for the game. Spurlock had two grabs for 65 yards and added 12 yards rushing.
Corey Adams also scored on a two-point conversion for the Cats.
Joe Street had one catch for 12 yards. Botsch had one grab for five yards.
On defense, Bubba Shepherd, Spurlcok and Andrew Reynolds all had five tackles to lead Logan.
Gary Miller, David Toney, Mike Cotterall and Keith Browning all had four tackles.
Nick Adams, Austin Farmer, Zack Ellis, Adams and Thomas Hunter all had three stops.
Cody Williamson and Jameson Copley had two tackles apiece.
Brian Ball, Cory Brown, Elmo Bell, Derek Gleason and Ryan Queen each finished with a tackle.
Queen, Browning and Spurlock had one special teams tackle apiece.
Miller had a blocked PAT.
Spurlock and Hunter each caused a fumble, while Browning and Austin Farmer each had a fumble recovery.
Hunter, Miller and Cotterall each had a sack.
Logan’s season comes to a close next Friday night as Class AA No. 1 Wayne (9-0) comes to LHS to face the Wildcats.
