DINGESS, W.Va. — Karen Kay Jones, 57, of Dingess, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at her home.

Born September 23, 1952, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Walter L. and Georgia May Vance. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Clayton and Kenneth Vance; sister, Pearl Vance Newsome, and brother-in-law, Euell Dillon.

Kay was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Jones; daughter, Jamie (Don) Newsome of Inez, Ky.; sons, James David (Becky) Jones of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Jeremy (Christy) Jones of Bardstown, Ky.; grandchildren, Eliza Jones, Kayla Jones, Cody Newsome, Caleb Newsome, Camber Newsome, Josh Tackett and Laken Jones; sisters, Jacqueline (Chlon) Sturgill of Marrowbone, Betty (Elmer) Mooneyham of Kent, Ohio, and Margie L. Dillon, Phyllis (Donald) Jarvis, Bonnie (James Ed) Baisden, and sister-in-law, Estalene Vance Dingess, all of Dingess, and brothers, Joseph [Wanda] Vance of Marrowbone, Billy Ray (Wilma) Vance of Zionsville, N.C., and Gary (Alberta) Vance, Paul (Judy) Vance and Phillip Ellis (Billie) Vance, all of Dingess.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church at Dingess with Rev. Wayne Runyon and Rev. Cornelius Lackey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hannah Cemetery at Naugatuck.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Caleb and Cody Newsome; sons, Jeremy and David Jones, and nephews, Brad and Darrin Baisden.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. today at the church where services will begin at 7 p.m.
