The Logan High School Cheerleaders earns an opportunity to perform in the pre-game show at the Capital One Bowl in Florida on New Year's Day.

Attending the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) summer camp at the University of Tennessee on June 17-20, 20 cheerleaders from Logan High School worked with college cheerleaders from the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee. With more than 200 cheerleaders from across the southeast attending, Logan cheerleaders achieved three blue ribbons for performances each night of camp and took home the first place trophy in the Large Varsity Division in the camp competition. The team also received a spirit stick each night of camp and earned the coveted Spirit Banana.

Krysta Kemp and Tashawnta Martin finished as finalists in the Jump Off Competition and Hannah Jewell, Krysta Kemp, Mariah Miller, and Lauren Poe earned the title of UCA All Star. Mariah Miller, a senior on the team, earned the opportunity to work with UCA next summer as a camp instructor.

Finally, the team took home the UCA Excellence Award, which is given to only one team at camp that exemplifies UCA standards of excellence in a cheer team. This was the award that qualified the team to perform in the pre-game show at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando.

Coaches for the LHS Cheerleaders are Michelle Akers and Erica O'Briant.
