The defending Class AA state champion Lady Cats won their eighth straight game after starting the season 1-2 with Thursday night’s 13-3 win over Sissonville at home.
Logan improved to 9-2 overall and 5-2 in the Cardinal Conference.
The game was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.
Lanna Bates had two hits, including a homer, and pitched the win. She had just hit a home run the day before in Logan’s big 2-0 win over county rival Chapmanville. Bates struck out six and allowed four hits.
Christie Spurlock and Hannah Vinson rapped out four hits each to lead Logan.
Laura Noe, Erin Stone, Tara White and Stacy Sheppard all had two hits each.
Logan’s scheduled home game tonight with Shady Spring has been moved to Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m.
The Lady Cats now are headed for “The Beach” with their Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Logan is set to begin play on Monday in the Grand Strand Classic and have a weeklong string of games in the Palmetto State.
