GLENHAYES n The Chapmanville High School girls’ volleyball team split a road tri-match on Tuesday at Tolsia.

The Lady Tigers lost to host Tolsia 25-19, 25-16, and then beat Covenant Christian, 25-10, 26-28, 25-18.

Chapmanville now stands at 7-11 on the season.

“The girls are playing well together,” Lady Tigers’ first-year coach Michelle Ball said. “It’s been a tough few weeks with losing two of our starters. Some days they play like a team and others they don't. We're a young team. Hopefully, we can pull together before sectionals come around and we can get a few more wins.”

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to return to action on Wednesday at Man.

Chapmanville goes to Herbert Hoover tonight for a Cardinal Conference matchup with the Huskies and also a match with non-league foe Wyoming East.

Next Tuesday, county rival Logan comes to town for a match at the Chapmanville Regional High School gym. CHS goes to Poca on Oct. 18.
