Your fate

Editor,

I send my condolences to all the honorable people of West Virginia. Why condolences, you may ask? I believe with the re-election of President Obama, your fate has now been signed, sealed and delivered.

The left has put an awful lot of thought, planning and design into crippling the coal industry, which will inevitably force the people of West Virginia into being a part of their subservient class. After taking away your livelihood, you will have no choice but to look to the government for your basic needs.

Yes, by forcing you to turn your life over to the government, this guarantees that you will be a dependent of theirs. They are counting on the fact that you will keep them in power in order for you to receive your needed sustenance. The people of West Virginia have been a target of the left for quite some time. The real issue isn’t about environmental concerns or the polar ice caps melting. It’s all about obtaining and maintaining their control, and power over the people.

A quote by Barack Obama in The West Virginia Record, November 2, 2008, he said: “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.” After Obama completes his plan to decimate the coal industry, he knows you will have no choice but to turn your life over to him. He will provide you with welfare, free health care, food stamps, rent subsidies, gasoline vouchers, etc…. In order for you to qualify for these Obama benefits, you will first have to extinguish all of your own life savings and investments.

Remember when he said: “We need to spread the wealth around.” The left, along with Barack Obama garners support by offering cradle to grave care and benefits that are modeled after certain European countries. They desperately want West Virginians’ to be a part of the caste system which they control.

Have you ever wondered why the left supports open borders? They can easily recruit illegal aliens and those sympathetic to their cause. Those people who fled their countries for a better life are eager to join Obama’s subservient class. They eventually obtain a Permanent Visa, have children and will do anything in order to keep their benefits coming.

The Democrat party is now looking forward to having West Virginians’ take up permanent residence in Obama’s subservient class.

National Home Health Month

Editor,

During the month of November, the medical profession recognizes National Home Health Month. Girling Health Care, serving Chapmanville and the surrounding area, would like to take this opportunity to salute the very special people who work tirelessly in this field to provide medical care and support to our Greatest Generation.

These home health professionals serve their patients in the comfort of the patient’s home — often driving long distances to assist them. Home health provides a range of skilled nursing services for home-based patients with the goal of returning the patient to independent living.

On behalf of Girling Health Care, a Harden Healthcare company, we would like to say thank you to home health professionals for the important work that they do each and every day.

Sincerely,

Tammy Thompson

Validation

Editor,

As religious zealots love to do, columnist Bill Ellis enjoys slipping a “fact” in here or there without need for validation.

A Sunday column in The Banner notes that the “founding documents of our nation” include “The Holy Bible.” This “fact” is never explained by Ellis. Of course it can’t be because it isn’t true.

I’m sure Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, consistent supporter of the separation of church and state, would be fascinated to learn The Holy Bible is a founding document of our republic.

Frankly those who disagree with Rev. Ellis might have more respect for him if he told only the truth.

Comments to the two posters:

Ron, many times the founding fathers used quotations from the Bible to base their arguments in favor of the Constitution. Perhaps this is where some might think the Constitution is based on the Bible. The way the Constitution is worded, the US government is to remain neutral concerning religion – neither creating religion, nor destroying religion. The Constitution gives us as citizens certain rights, but as of late I think the Federal Government is overstepping its original mandate.

Dave, I agree with your sentiments concerning President Obama and his policies. This is the most divisive president in my memory. The Republicans were completely shut out of the debate when the Democrats were meeting to create Obamacare. The Democrats rammed health care through because they had a super majority at the time, and they disallowed Republicans from joining in their closed room meetings. Most Americans do not think mandated health care is a good idea (especially during a depression). Think about how our postal system runs! Alright, now apply that to the health care system.

Concerning coal, most people in the coal fields are not stupid! Obama’s goal is clear to those who have a thinking brain. Sure…they can create more coal burning plants, but his policy will kill the coal industry because of all the penalties. I will also note that Obama has not allowed the Keystone Pipeline, new drilling permits on federal land for oil, and seems to be against production of gas via fracking. What does he support? Throwing hard earned currency at cosmic failures like Solyndra! I wonder if any of the Democrats have heard that word…Solyndra? Probably not!

Our economic woes can be traced back to legislation deregulating the banking industry and forcing the banks to furnish bad loans to those who could not afford them. If one has a brain cell in their head, these can be traced directly to the Democrats. Sadly most people do not have a brain cell, and we are stuck with the worst president in U.S. history.

Here is what I predict! The unemployment rate will continue to rise; the debt will continue to rise; hunger and suffering will go up; nothing will be done about the US border; we will never find out the truth behind what happened with the border agent and those who lost their lives in Benghazi Libya. The conflict in the Middle East will become worse; gasoline and oil prices will skyrocket; the stock market will plunge. Those who claim to believe in God had better pray for our country! I predict it is headed for complete failure. In all of this, I predict Obama will continue to blame anyone other than himself; you will also not hear anything but good news from the main stream media concerning obama.

Job well done on your editorial, Ron!

To Doug Bokoski, President Obama did not say anything about the coal miners. What he said refers to the owners/operators of these mines. You know, the ones who don't care about the safety or health of the coal miners or townspeople. They are greedy, rich coal barrons. If any miners think they really care about you, you need to think again. And, the help from our government that the republicans are ranting against, let's see how hungry they get before they sign up for help. Our economy is bad because of many things and it looks like more people will be laid off for the future. Churches and neighbors can only help so much. Back when my husband was laid off from the mines, we were glad to get help. We had tried everywhere else and were told, "Sorry, there's nothing left here." And, another thing, where is everyone's compassion? The world is full of cold-hearted people now who don't care about anyone but themselves and would not help anyone or anything. Did anyone bother to ask God what He would do? Before the election, I didn't think much about politics, although I've always voted. Then, in this last election, I've felt ashamed for the way the republicans have acted. They're not being a good christian with how they've been. Even now, they can't let it go and are continually whining about obama this or that. Aren't we suppose to pray for our president and leaders and give them our full support? I love God, West Virginia and my country. I pray for our country everynight. What about you all?
