The Logan High School track and field team competed well in its two most recent meets.
At the rain-shortened Shady Spring Invitational, Logan’s David Toney was second place in the shot put.
Jacob Songer was fifth place in the high jump, while Adrianna Herrera took fifth place in the 100-meter high hurdles.
At the Oak Hill Lions Club Invitational, Toney took first place in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet eight inches.
Logan is back in action on Thursday in the Class AAA regional meet at Charleston’s Laidley Field, the site of the upcoming state meet. The regionals are scheduled to get started at 4:30 p.m.
“Our kids are working really hard and I hope it pays off for them on Thursday,” Logan track coach Gary Mullins said. “We got a lot of kids that have put in a lot of time and deserve to finish strong. They would appreciate any support they could get.”
