Despite last week’s 46-12 loss on the road at Johnson Central, Ky., the Logan High School football team is still ranked in this week’s WVSSAC Computer Ratings.

The Wildcats (3-1), which are scheduled to host rival Chapmanville on Friday night, are ranked 13th in the state in this week’s ratings. Logan was 10th last week.

The top 16 teams in each of the state’s classifications qualify for the playoffs, which begin Nov. 9.

Cabell Midland (4-0) and Huntington (4-0) are tied for first with 13.50 ratings points. Martinsburg (4-0) is third at 13.00 while Elkins (4-0) and University (4-0) are tied for fourth with 12.50 points.

Capital (3-0) is sixth and Point Pleasant (3-0) seventh, while George Washington (3-1) and Beckley Woodrow Wilson (3-1) are tied for eighth. Parkersburg South (3-1) is 10th, Morgantown (2-1) 11th, Oak Hill (3-1) 12th and Logan 13th. Hampshire (2-1) and Spring Valley (2-2) are tied for 14th, while Hurricane (2-2) and Winfield (2-2) are knotted at 16th.

In this week’s Class AA ratings, Scott is first in the state with a 4-0 mark and 11.25 points. The Skyhawks lead No. 2 Keyser (3-0) which has 9.67 points. In third place is Wayne (3-0), the defending 2A state champions, which made state-wide headlines last week with its crushing 84-42 win over Ravenswood.

Frankfort (3-0) is fourth, Bluefield (2-1) fifth, Bridgeport (3-1) sixth and Sissonville (2-1) seventh, while Summers County (3-1) and Wyoming East (3-1) are tied for eighth.

Tied for 10th are Philip Barbour (3-1) and Robert C. Byrd (3-1). Fairmont Senior (2-1), Liberty Raleigh (3-1) and Mingo Central (2-1) are in a three-way tie for 12th. Petersburg (3-1) is 15th and Ravenswood (2-1) 16th after last Friday night’s beatdown.

Chapmanville Regional (2-2) is tied for 23rd with Braxton County and Tolsia. Poca, which lost at Chapmanville last week, fell into a tie for 19th with Grafton in this week’s ratings.

In this week’s Class A computer ratings, Clarksburg Notre Dame is first with a 3-0 mark and 8.67 points. The Irish lead second-place Valley Fayette. The Greyhounds are 3-0 with 8.00 points.

Meadow Bridge (4-0) and Wahama (4-0) are tied for third, while Tucker County (4-0) is fifth. Clay-Battelle (4-0), East Hardy (3-0) and Greenbrier West (3-1) are tied for sixth. St. Marys (3-1) and Wirt County (3-1) are tied for ninth. Wheeling Central (3-1) is 11th and Buffalo (2-1) 12th, while Bishop Donahue (3-1), Doddridge County (3-1), Magnolia (3-1) and Tug Valley (3-1) are tied for 13th.

Man (1-3) is unranked this week. The Billies play at Mingo Central on Friday night.
