On July 9, two girls from the Logan area were honored by the Black Diamond Girl Scout Council for being Top Sellers for this year’s Girl Scout cookie sale. Madelyn Akers of Troop 2447 out of the Wyandot Service Unit (Chapmanville/Boone area) sold 1,000 boxes. Hannah Chambers of Troop 4748 out of the Logan-Mica Service Unit (Logan area) sold 1,144 boxes of cookies. The girls along with several others from the council were treated to a reception at the Valley Park Community Center in Hurricane where they were introduced and given their awards and prizes. Pictured are Madelyn and Hannah with Susan Thompson, Executive Director of Black Diamond Girl Scout Council.

I thought girls were doing good in they sold about 20 or 30 boxes of cookies. Good heavens, somebody is going to get fat out there! Oh well, a couple more pounds won't hurt anything. All one needs is a 2 litre bottle of Coke to wash the box of cookies down.
