Born August 24, 1936, in Kitchen, she was a daughter of the late Sylva and Addie Wallen Workman. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 50 years, Carlie “Moe” Adkins; three brothers, Sylva Workman Jr., Authur Ray Workman and Everette Workman; one sister, Ollie Mae Workman; one daughter, Kathy Ann Kinser; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Adkins and Owen Adkins, and one sister-in-law, Yantus (John) Bostic.
Mona loved being with and enjoyed her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and attended the Crossroads Community Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Ronnie (Terry Adkins and Timmy (Shelly) Adkins, both of Sawmill; four sisters, Carrie (John) Brewster of Kitchen, Helen Harst and Joyce (Delbert) Jackson, both of Ohio, and Judy (Sturg) Killik of Florida; one brother, Gene (Betty) Workman of Sawmill; one son-in-law, Paul Kinser; one sister-in-law, Geneva Adkins of Saw Mill; three brothers-in-law, Archie (Ruth) Adkins and Jimmy (Dee) Adkins, both of Ohio, and Dave Adkins of Sawmill; 13 grandchildren, Paula Kinser, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Kinser, Frankie Kinser, Ronnie (Leeann) Adkins, James (Kim) Adkins, Charlotte (Jack) Browning, Ethan Adkins, Asa Adkins, Benjamin Adkins, Heath Adkins, Kisha Adkins, Aaron Adkins and Georgia Adkins; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Freeman Funeral Home with Eugene Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery at Sawmill Road.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, James, Ethan, Asa, Benjamin, Heath and Aaron Adkins and Jeremy Kinser.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
