Man netters spike Tug Valley, improve to 9-2

MAN — The Man High School girls’ volleyball team split in its most recent matches and stand at 9-2 on the season.

Last Saturday at Westside, the Lady Billies lost 3-0 at Westside as Man fell 25-14, 25-20, 25-20.

The Lady Billies then bounced back on Tuesday to win 3-0 at new Class A sectional rival Tug Valley by the scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-17.

Man also won the JV match over Tug Valley, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14, to improve to 1-1 on the season.

The Lady Billies are scheduled to host Buffalo on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a varsity/JV doubleheader at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.

“We would like to see everyone come out and watch,” Man coach Orlando Washington said.

Man then follows on Oct. 2 with a home match against Tolsia before going to play at Buffalo on Oct. 4. The Lady Billies go to Wyoming East on Oct. 6 and then host Mingo Central on Oct. 8.

The Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team was scheduled to play at Sherman on Tuesday but no scores or statistics were reported to The Logan Banner. The Lady Tigers open the season with seven straight road matches before opening at home on Tuesday, Sept. 25 against Herbert Hoover.

The Logan High School volleyball team was slated to play at Westside on Monday and at Sherman on Tuesday but no information was available. The Lady Cats are scheduled to play at Tug Valley on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Logan plays next Tuesday at Mingo Central and Sept. 27 at Huntington before having its next home match on Oct. 2 against the same Mingo Central Miners’ team.
