OMAR — One person involved in a single-car crash at the foot of Horsepen Mountain yesterday afternoon had to be airlifted to a hospital due to severe injuries.
The name of the person involved in the crash was not available at press time, but an emergency services worker said the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near Sarah Ann.
Air Evac airlifted the crash victim from the Omar Football Field to a hospital either in Charleston or Huntington for treatment.
Around the same time, a two-car crash happened at Monaville that involved injuries, according to the emergency services worker.
The two-car crash was a head-on collision and one car overturned onto its top. Traffic was stalled along Route 44 for an hour while crews cleaned up the wreck.
The West Virginia State Police worked both crashes. WVSP Trooper J.K. Harris is the investigating officer and he was not available for comment as of press time this morning.
Also around the same time, a train and car collided at the mouth of Bull Hollow at Crown near Man.
There were no injuries in the train vs. car crash, the emergency services worker said.
The identities of the parties involved in the three crashes were not available and no additional details were available from the crashes as of press time this morning.
