MAN — Do you know of family whose vehicle needs some repair work? A local auto service dealer is going to award up to $500 in repair work to a less fortunate local family this month.

“We are asking the community to nominate a family in need of car repairs up to $500,” said Jack McDaniels, owner of Mac’s Auto Parts and Mac’s Service Center. “We must have a name and why you nominate them.”

Nominations may be dropped off at Mac’s Auto Parts or Service Center, emailed to macsautoparts1@hotmail.com or via facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Macs-Service-Center.

“To me it’s a safety issue, like tires or a front end problem” said McDaniels. “Someone coming in and say they need an oil change, that’s not a safety issue.”

McDaniels said he wants to help a family that is struggling, or someone who is a single parent.

“Somebody that needs repairs but can’t afford to do,” said McDaniels.

McDaniels said the free repair to someone in need will not be a one-time offer.

“We plan on doing this again, we just have decided when,” said McDaniels.

McDaniels said he made the offer to just give back to the community.
