ORLANDO, Fla. — Peggy Joanne Phillips, loving mother, wife, sister and nana, went to be with the Lord October 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s for seven years.

Born May 2, 1938, in Logan, she was a majorette and cheerleader for the Logan High Wildcats, where she graduated in 1956. Peggy was a resident of Kingswood Manor for 45 years. She worked as a dental office manager for 25 years. She was an avid bridge and bunko player. Peggy had a wonderful sense of humor, she was spirited and full of life and was a compassionate friend to all who knew her.

Preceding her in death was a daughter, Teresa Paige Berry, and her sister, Janet Brumfield.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dean E. Phillips Sr.; sons, Dean E. (Connie) Phillips Jr., David Alex Phillips and Gary (Patty) Phillips; grandchildren, Alexis, Samantha, and C.J.; brother, James David Matney of Texas; sisters, Judy Hudson of Deland, Fla., Johnny (Ron Sr.) Ward of Milton, and Janie (Kenny) Reid of Virginia Beach, Va., and a brother-in-law, Bill Brumfield of Kentucky.

Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, at the Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel with services following at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
