Area law enforcement officers have made more drug arrests in recent weeks according to police reports.
• Dennis E. McNeely, 22, of Hensley, was charged with aiding escape and attempting to smuggle drugs into a jail on Nov. 7. by Cpl. Mustapha Nasser of the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.
According to law enforcement reports, several inmates were "acting strangely" on Nov. 4 and were placed on supervised custody by corrections officers who kept a close watch on them in the booking area of the jail.
"Cpl. Nasser spoke with Dennis McNeely and he admitted to this officer that he was the only individual who brought drugs into this facility," the report states. "He also signed a sworn statement to this."
McNeely was already incarcerated when the alleged offense occurred.
• Mark Allen Hill, 46, of Man, was arrested in Man by Sgt. W.D. Walls of the Man Police Department for delivery of a controlled substance on Nov. 8.
According to police reports, Sgt. Walls was turning onto Main Street when he allegedly witnessed Hill selling several pills to an individual through his dining room window.
The officer said in the report that he witnessed Hill counting several white pills on the dining room table and witnessed money change hands. Walls then pulled out onto Main Street and turned around at the old Man Junior High School and reportedly noticed a maroon Toyota Tacoma parked in front of the accused's residence.
Hill and two individuals were standing in front of the automobile and the report said Walls followed the vehicle and pulled it over and the passenger then produced eight Watson 385s from his fifth pocket.
Hill was taken into custody and was booked at the regional jail at 7:40 p.m.
• David Lee Farley, 43, of Kistler, was arrested in Logan County by West Virginia State Police Troopers J.R. Brewer and M.L. Vance for armed robbery and cultivation of marijuana on Nov. 5.
According to police reports, the officers responded to a robbery complaint at the Little General Store in Boone County and spoke with a clerk who told them a masked man threatened her with a black handgun.
The officers then allegedly received information that Farley had premeditated the act. Farley was then located at his residence in Logan County, where a black BB gun pistol and black mask matching the description were allegedly located, the report said.
However, that was not all police located.
"While conducting an officer safety sweep of the residence, these officers discovered an indoor marijuana grow (station) of seven plants," the report states. "These officers also discovered additional individually wrapped bags of marijuana."
Farley was booked at the regional jail at 3:05 a.m.
