Due to the 2010 Census, states all across the country were forced to redistrict their legislative districts. The new redistricting map in West Virginia has divided Logan County into three different House of Delegate districts — District 20, 22 and 24.

The dividing line between the districts slashed through neighborhoods and communities, resulting in adjacent neighbors voting for candidates in different districts. Due to this division, many voters may be confused as to which district and candidates they will have the option of voting for in the Primary Election on May 8.

For example, those who normally voted at the New Cora Fire Department will have to determine whether they vote in Precinct 45A, 45B or 54. The Logan County Clerk’s office will have records available at the polling place to help voters determine which precinct they vote in; or voters can call the Clerk’s office at 304-792-8600. Below is a listing of precincts and the House of Delegates District they represent.
