Man’s Summer Sword glides in for two of her 37 points in Friday’s home victory over Wahama.
MAN — It was a big night for Man High School’s Summer Sword, who poured in 37 points to lead the Lady Billies’ basketball team to a 60-46 win Friday night at home over Wahama at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.
Mika McCoy also broke into double digits for Man as she tallied 17 points.
Morgan Conn added five points and Tiffany Belcher one point for the Lady Billies.
Man led Wahama 16-4 after one quarter, 27-15 at the half and 44-39 after three. The Lady Billies then outscored Wahama 16-7 in the fourth quarter to set the final score.
The Lady Billies improved to 4-2 on the season with the win.
Man is scheduled to get back into action on Saturday, Jan. 5 at Sherman in a 6:30 p.m. tip off. The Lady Billies then go to Cross Lanes Christian on Jan. 8, go to Wahama to play the same White Falcons’ team on Jan. 16 and then host the same Sherman Tide team on Jan. 17 in Man’s next home game.
* The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team was scheduled to play Keyser on Friday at Charleston Catholic’s Capital City Classic, however, no final score or statistics were available as of presstime.
The Lady Tigers were 4-2 entering the game.
Chapmanville is slated to host Wayne on Jan. 3, then host Tolsia on Jan. 5 and Scott on Jan. 10.
All three are Cardinal Conference games and have 7:30 p.m. tipoffs.
