Editor,
I believe there are three basic areas that require attention to be healthy: diet, exercise, and thoughts.
As far as diet goes we all know what we're supposed to do: eat less. When I was young I was lucky and had a fast metabolism. I could eat anything and not gain weight. I would come home from school and eat a whole package of cookies and milk and not gain a pound. That changed when I hit 30. I grew a spare tire. I finally started doing Weight Watchers and it worked. I highly recommend it. I also like the Equate brand weight loss shakes at Wal-Mart. They're nutritious, quick, and easy.
We also know about exercise, but we don't do it. I suggest walking and weight training at least 30 minutes daily. Walking will help your heart and weight training will help your bones and muscles. When I visit Logan I go to "The Gym." They have everything you need to get fit. I work out early because I'm usually spent after work. At home I have my own gym.
Thoughts are powerful things and can affect your health. Negative thoughts will have negative consequences and positive thoughts will have positive consequences. Keep the positive thoughts and chuck the negative ones. I recommend seeking out positive sources and avoiding negative sources. It's easy to tell the difference because good sources make you feel good!
Good luck on your journey! Try to enjoy the ride!
