CHARLESTON (AP) - Gov. Joe Manchin wants mental health professionals to donate a little of their time to returning veterans.

Manchin is scheduled to announce Tuesday the start in West Virginia of the Give an Hour campaign, a national effort aimed at helping veterans successfully reintegrate in life at home.

The nonprofit group, which has more than 2,700 mental health professionals donating time across the country, works with returning veterans and their families.

West Virginia has a high percentage of veterans in its population. It can sometimes be difficult for those veterans to get to hospitals and clinics that treat mental illness because of the state's rural, spread-out nature.
