MUD FORK — The Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Board of Governors Agenda Committee will meet at 9 a.m. at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, Building C, Room 428, and by teleconference. The purpose of the meeting is to establish the agenda for the December 11 regular business meeting of the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Board of Governors. The meeting is open to the public.

LOGAN — The Logan County Child Advocacy Center will host “Chasing Away the Blues” for abused and neglected children featuring blues legend Johnny Rawls at the Logan Country Club. Tickets are $40 for singles and $75 for couples and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and the show. Seating is limited. Contact the CAC’s office at 304-792-6261 to reserve tickets.

LOGAN — the West Virginia State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint along West Virginia Route 119/26, Deskins Addition, from 9 p.m.-3 a.m. The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to educate the motoring public about the effects of driving impaired either by alcohol, drugs, or both. Furthermore, the checkpoint would act as a deterrent for impaired driving. During the checkpoint, drivers will be checked for any other traffic infractions as well. This project is funded through the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.

THREE MILE CURVE — Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Center will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

CROOKED CREEK — The Logan County Autism Association will host “Sensitive Santa” at Logan Resource Center on Crooked Creek Road from 3:30-5:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for anyone with an autism spectrum disorder to meet Santa while enjoying a special holiday experience designed especially for them. The first 20 visitors will receive goody-filled stockings with love and holiday blessings from the LCAA.

BRAMWELL — The Town of Bramwell (8 mi. north of Bluefield on Rt. 52) will hold the Annual Holiday Historic Home Tour, 5 - 8 p.m. Tickets are $15. For information call Betty at 304-248-8381
