Locals jailed on malicious wounding charges

Local police have made more arrests on malicious wounding and battery charges according to law enforcement reports

• Katrina Nicole Williamson, 27, of Sarah Ann, was arrested in Logan County by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.K. Harris for malicious wounding, domestic battery and domestic assault on June 19.

According to law enforcement reports, on June 12, Williamson allegedly got into an altercation with the victim, who told officers she "struck him about the face and head with closed fists."

"This officer observed minor lacerations to the victim's face consistent with that of his report," the criminal complaint states, adding that a second victim of the accused attempted to intervene and stop the altercation and was struck, "knocking her to the ground, at which time she kicked her in the chest and abdomen multiple times. As a result, the victim was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center and later to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington for a cardiac contusion. Medical personnel related the victim was in stable but serious condition and that her injuries were life threatening."

Williamson was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 11:45 p.m.

• Chad Neil Williams, 32, of Logan, was arrested in Logan County by Patrolman Mark Dickerson of the Logan Police Department for malicious wounding on June 14.

According to police reports, on December 27, 2008, the officer met with the victim in reference to a physical altercation that happened in the McDonald's parking lot.

"Upon speaking with the (the victim), this officer was advised that 13 stitches were received after Chad Williams struck him with a closed fist," the report states, adding, "Williams turned around and began walking away. Williams then turned and struck (the victim) in the lower lip causing a severe laceration that required medical attention."

An off duty police officer and another individual witnessed the incident. On Jan 9, 2009 a warrant was issued for Williams' arrest. He was taken into custody on June 14 and booked at the regional jail at 3:40 a.m.

• Michael Lee Mosser, 38, of Logan, was arrested in Logan by Patrolman J.L. Sheppard of the LPD for daytime burglary, battery, destruction of property and obstructing an officer on June 15.

According to police reports, the officers responded to a call about a large physical altercation on Dingess Street involving several people.

The officer was told that Mosser allegedly walked into the victim's apartment without permission and started a physical altercation with another individual. The second victim said Mosser "struck her in the eye, then choked her."

"She further stated that (Mosser) knocked her on top of a table causing major damage to it," the report states, adding that Mosser then began to have a physical altercation with the first victim. "When speaking with the defendant he refused to comply with commands given to him and resisted while being handcuffed."

Mosser was booked at the regional jail at 8:25 p.m.

Police say the last month has seen a large number of arrests on domestic violence and battery charges.

• Chester Trapper Collins 28, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic assault and domestic battery on June 22. He was booked at the regional jail at 3 p.m. Collins was arrested for violating a domestic violence petition on June 17 and obstructing an officer. He was booked at the regional jail at 5:18 on that occasion.

• Robert Lee Collins, 68, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for violating a Domestic Violence Petition and public intoxication on June 13. He was booked at the regional jail at 4:08 p.m. Collins was arrested on June 10 by the Chapmanville Police Department for violating a DVP and public intoxication and was booked at the regional jail at 10:30 p.m. on that incident.

• Christy Dawn Collins, 28, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic assault and domestic battery on June 23. She was booked at the regional jail at 5:40 p.m.

• Jaclyn Michelle Collins, 21, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic assault and trespassing on June 20. She was booked at the regional jail at 5:15 p.m.

• Walter Harry Rakes, 22, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic assault and domestic battery on June 18. H was booked at the regional jail at 10:45 p.m.

• Buddy Lee Rakes, 22, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic battery and domestic assault on June 18. He was booked at the regional jail at 10:45 p.m.

• Santana Michelle Lewis, 22, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the LPD for domestic battery and domestic assault on June 17. She was booked at the regional jail at 12:05 a.m.

• Ricky Allen Richards, 45, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the LPD for domestic battery on June 12. He was booked at the regional jail at 12:30 a.m.

• Steven Lyle Sharp, 25, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic battery (third offense) on June 11. He was booked at the regional jail at 7:40 p.m.

• Jonathan Irvan Maynor, 22, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic battery on June 8. He was booked at the regional jail at 11:15 p.m.

• Bruce James Estep, 25, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic battery and domestic assault on June 7. He was booked at the regional jail at 5:30 a.m.

• Crystal Nantz, 26, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for public intoxication, battery, domestic assault and obstructing an officer on May 30. She was booked at the regional jail at 4 a.m.

• Leonard Vance, 33, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic assault and domestic battery on May 30. He was booked at the regional jail at 10:20 p.m.

• Terry Edward Chafin, 41, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the WVSP for domestic assault and domestic battery on May 28. He was booked at the regional jail at 2:20 p.m.

• Chris Elliot Coats, 38, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic assault and domestic battery on May 23. He was booked at the regional jail at 4:10 p.m.

• David Leon Green, 48, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for domestic assault on May 22. He was booked at the regional jail at 9:30 p.m.

• Elba Ray Workman, 50, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County, agency not listed, for public intoxication, trespassing when asked to leave, obstructing an officer and battery on an officer on May 5. He was booked at the regional jail at 11:35 p.m.
