This Valentines story featuring Steven Duty and Anna Gibson is proof that love never fails and where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Steven Duty and Anna Gibson both live in Man. Steven is 26 years and has a constant battle with medical issues. Last year, he spent 216 days in the hospital and was in the hospital as Valentines Day approached, but had hopes he would be discharged in time to take Anna out on Valentine’s Day.
Valentines Day arrived and the doctor said Steven could be discharged. Steven’s excitement at the news was short –lived. The nurse came in an hour later to tell him he couldn’t go home.
Steven called Anna to break the news, and she said she understood. Steven was upset and hated to disappoint her. When he calmed down, he devised a plan to save the celebration.
With a little help from his friends, Steven put together a little surprise for his Valentine. He had a friend picked up flowers, candles, and some markers. He asked the nurse for a bed sheet and some paper and went to work, turning his hospital tray table into one befitting a four-star restaurant.
When Anna came into his room, she was so surprised. She said, “To me, this Valentines Day is Platinum! Steven doesn’t just love like this on Valentines Day, but every day. His heart is bigger than the moon and stars. I never knew a love like this with a guy (other than my dad as a father) was real here on earth until Jesus gave me Steven. This Valentines Day is a story book day and I feel like a princess.”
Anna went on to thank Steven for giving of himself and going the extra mile when he didn’t have to. She said he would never know how special he made the day and how loved he made her feel.
She told him, “I will always pray for your miracle because I believe in Jesus and I believe in you! Happy 2nd Valentines Day to the guy who has my heart. God Bless…to me this is the greatest love story I could ever personally share.”
