The Harts Middle School boys’ basketball team improved to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the Black Diamond Conference with Saturday’s 68-51 win at home over Lenore.
Kyle Browning led Harts with 27 points for the game. He was 6-for-9 from 3-point territory, was 7-for-7 from the free throw line and had four rebounds.
Drew Williamson also had a big game for the Lions with 21 points. He also had a make from 3-point land.
Caleb Ellis added 16 points and nine rebounds for Harts. He was 6-for-10 shooting from the floor.
Carson Toney added four points for Harts.
The Lions led Lenore 13-11 after one quarter and 35-22 at the half. Harts then outscored the Rangers 16-15 in the third to take a 51-37 lead. Harts then held a 17-14 edge in the fourth to set the final score.
Man 31, Harts 30
The Harts Middle School boys’ basketball team went on the road on Monday night and lost 31-30 at Man.
Harts (5-4) got 14 points from Kyle Browning. Caleb Ellis had eight, Drew Williamson four and Ty Sturm and Tristian Browning tallied two each.
Daniel Buchanan and Tyler Grimmett had 12 each for Man. Nick Collins had five and Tyler Blair two.
The Lions are scheduled to play at Hamlin on Thursday before hosting Chapmanville on Jan. 21. Harts then hosts Duval on Jan. 22, goes to George Washington on Jan. 24 and hosts the Poca Dots on Jan. 26.
