CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Harry Booth Jr., 86, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 7, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House.

Harry retired from the Coal Mines in 1961 and began Barber College in 1962. He worked for CBF Barber Shop in Kanawha City and was a member of the Charleston Mountain Mission Church. He barbered for 30 years.

Preceding Harry in death were his parents, Rev. Harry Sr. and Gurnie Ashworth Booth; siblings, Woodrow and James Booth, Mabel Williams, Eva Wheeler, Opal Bailey, Frances Wiley and an infant brother, Seibert Booth.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Laura L. Booth, whom he married in 1946; son, Roger (Linda) Booth of Charleston; daughters, Sharon (Donald) Midkiff of Parkersburg and Marsha (Jeff) Pennington of Charleston; sister, Barbara Ann Mutters of Man; grandchildren, Roger Lee Booth Jr., of Bridgeport, Meredith Amber Williamson of Huntington, Courtney Virginia Booth-Cheek of Arden, N.C., and Kelly Michelle Pennington of Charleston, and great-grandchildren, Andrew Brett Booth, Hayden Eric Williamson, Kathryn Virginia Booth, Blake Donald Williamson and Laura Virginia Cheek. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Fairley McCormick and the Rev. Lee Turley officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Charleston Mountain Mission Welfare Program in Harry’s name.
