A man was arrested and charged with armed robbery of the Wilkinson Speedway on October 27.
Derek Davis, 26, was arrested by West Virginia State Trooper J.G. Honaker after located Davis walking in the Cherry Tree area.
According to the criminal complaint, Davis “was acting suspicious and nervous.” When Honaker conducted an officer safety search on Davis, he located four packs of Marlboro 100’s, a red bandana with two holes cut in it, a large knife and fifty dollars in the bag in the defendant’s pocket.”
Davis was accused of robbing the business with a “knife in his hands.” Along with the money, he was observed on video wearing the red bandana.
He is incarcerated in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bail.

• Samuel Eugene Murray, 47, was arrested and charged with DUI 2nd offense, Reckless driving, driving suspended/revoked, no insurance and failure to signal on October 27 by WVSP Tpr. R.L. Glaspell. He was released on a $3,000 bond.
• Amber F. Jude, 29, was arrested and charged with domestic battery, child neglect with risk of injury, disorderly conduct and domestic assault on October 26, by Man Police Department Patrolmen Justin Thomas and David Walls. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
• Luke Carter was arrested and charged with violation of a domestic violence petition, obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and trespassing on posted property by MPD Thomas and Walls on October 26. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
• David Jeffrey was arrested and charged as being a fugitive from justice, five counts of battery on a police officer, obstructing a police officer and five counts of assault on a police officer by WVSP M.A. Broadwater on October 27. He is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bail.
