SARAH ANN, W.Va. — Mr. Willis “Billy Ed” Chafin, 82, of Sarah Ann, was born March 7, 1930, at Logan, a son of the late Willis and Maude Estep Chafin. He departed this life Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston.

Also preceding him in death was his wife of 63 years, Anna Lou Chafin, and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Chafin was a retired coal miner of 33 years, and a member of the UMWA and God’s Lighthouse at Barnabus.

Survivors include two sons: Larry E. (Kathy) Chafin and Willis E. (Deborah) Chafin, both of Sarah Ann; three grandchildren: Lori Scruggs, Amanda Adkins and Kayla Chafin (Jonathan Lester); two great-grandchildren: Griffin Scruggs and Reagan Adkins, and a host of family and friends

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Shane Dennison officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lester, Griffin Scruggs, Danny Franklin, Danny McCleese, Matt Aldridge and other family and friends.

Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the God’s Lighthouse at Barnabus.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is assisting the Chafin family.

Saddened by the news of Willis Chafin's passing. I always loved him and his wife Anna Lou. I attended God's Lighthouse at Barnabus, WV with them until the resignation of Pastor Paul Ward in the early months of 2006. My deepest condolences to the family!!!!!
