The winning streak continues for the Man High School girls’ volleyball team.
The red-hot Lady Billies improved to 7-0 on the season with Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory on the road over the Class AAA Lincoln County Lady Panthers at Hamlin.
Man lost the first set 25-22, but then stormed back to take three straight from the Lady Panthers, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19.
The Lady Billies, coached by Orlando Washington, haven’t lost a match since last year’s Class A sectional tournament at Charleston Catholic.
Man is off to its best start in 12 years.
Members of the Man volleyball team are: Summer Sword; Morgan Church; Andi Short; Mika McCoy; Summer Combs; Katie Curry; Tiara Owens; Sarah Grimmett; Hannah Harvey; Abby Lusk; Amia Adkins; Tiffany Belcher; Jada Harris; Sierra Schoolcraft.
“Summer Sword continued her consistent play,” Coach Washington said. “Mika McCoy served well and set well during the contest. Right now we are still making too many mistakes when we are playing. We have to communicate better on the court and play cleaner moving forward.”
Man is scheduled to get back into action on Thursday at home against Westside and Chapmanville in a tri-match. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
The Lady Billies then play at Tug Valley on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before hosting Buffalo on Sept. 20 and Tolsia on Oct. 2.
