The Logan High School production of “Little Shop of Horrors” has been getting great reviews.
Unfortunately, this week is your last chance to see the comedy, rock musical about a man-eating plant at Logan High.
The “Little Shop of Horrors” story is musically chronicled by three street urchins called Crystal (Shana Nelson), Ronette (Staci Hall) and Chiffon (Kaitlyn Williamson). It involves a poor orphan, Seymour (Calvin Tomblin), who has been raised by Mr Mushnik (Jason McCloud), owner of the florist where Seymour works. Seymour is secretly in love with co-worker, Audrey (Sarah Browning), who’s boyfriend (Richie Ojeda) treats her badly. The business is failing, and Mushnik decides to close the shop, but at the last minute, customers flock there to see a strange plant which Seymour has collected, and the business is saved.
All is set for a happy ending, but such are the growing appetite of Audrey II and the twists and turns of this magical musical that The Plant is ultimately the victor. To reveal the ending would ruin the tale. So come along to see for yourself, and enjoy the musical score as the story heads for a dramatic climax.
The performance is directed by Bill France. The plants are played by Hunter Napier, Alex Crum and the voice is Dylan Vidovich.
“The Shop” will be open for its final week of business at the Phyllis Adkins Little Theater at Logan High School Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. Admission is $6 and on Thursday Night, area elementary students will get in for half price ($3).
