What a way to go out. It was an outstanding senior season on the mound for former Logan High School pitcher Jordan Butcher, who finished up his final year of collegiate ball last week. Butcher, a right-hander at West Virginia State University who was moved from the bullpen to the starting rotation this year, was sixth in the WVIAC in ERA at 3.01. It was a quick exit for Chapmanville Regional High School’s Natasha Williams and Haley Justice at last weekend’s state tennis meet in Charleston. Williams, Chapmanville’s No. 1 singles player, lost 8-1 to Joanna Capito of Wheeling Central. In doubles, Williams and Justice lost 8-2 to Haley Spurlock and Madison Juszczak. The Logan 8-and-under baseball travel team hosted a spring tournament on April 27. Teams which took part in the tourney came from Magoffin County (Ky.), Charleston nd Madison. Logan went undefeated during pool play and tournament play, winning five consecutive games, beating Madison in the championship game 9-8.
