The City of Logan is planning to have a Spook-Tacular Halloween.

The City of Logan's HalloweenFest will swoop into town on Saturday, October 30, following Trick or Treat.

Trick or Treat will be observed in the city from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on that Saturday and the festival will kick off following that, around 6:30 p.m. and will run to 9:30 p.m.

The event will feature plenty of entertainment including a ventriloquist- comedian and an interactive clown show, as well as a rock wall for climbers, a costume contest with prizes to be won and a poster contest open to all area schools. The public is urge to come out and enjoy the fun and games.

"Our Rotary club will be assisting with the HalloweenFest pumpkin decorating festival on October 30 6:30-8:30 p.m.," Crystal Hensley said. "Peggy Vance's robotics team members will be joining us." Vance said volunteers will be needed from church and civic groups and from teens seeking community service points to assist children with the decoration of approximately 600 pumpkins.

That day will also see a Chili Cook Off contest earlier in the day sponsored by the Logan Prosecuting Attorneys Office and Crime Victim's Advocate Jeannie Christian. That project is to draw attention to another October tradition — Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
