DINGESS, W.Va. — Georgia Kirk, 72, who resided with her daughter in Dingess, passed away Tuesday November 2, 2010 at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Born June 16, 1938, at Logan, she was a daughter of the late Bradley and Matilda Fields. Also preceding her in death was her loving husband of 56 years, Oscar D. Kirk; an infant daughter, Vanessa Joy; two sisters, Nanny and Hazel Fields; two brothers, Buster and Leonard Fields, and two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Bragg and Vanessa Shively.

Survivors include one daughter, Estelle (Virgil) Meade of Dingess; three sons, Clarence (Carol) Kirk of Oceana, Randall (Lola) Kirk of Lexington, N.C. and Oscar Lee Kirk of Logan; four sisters, Thelma, Bonnie, Wilma and Abby Fields, all of Hazard, Ky.; two brothers, Tootie and Peanut Fields; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also Drema Kirk, whom she loved dearly, and her caregiver Meloney Marcum.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, at the at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barney Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kirk, Chris Kirk, James Kirk, Virgil Meade, Jesse Wellman, Clarence Kirk and Alternate Randall Kirk.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
