Born October 24, 1922, in Mingo County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Janie Dempsey White. Also preceding her in death was her loving husbands, James W. Blevins and Edgar Albright; two brothers, Fred and Earl White, and three sisters Della Harrison, Hollie Dempsey and Crystal Canterbury.
Edna worked for the Logan County Schools as a cook for many years starting at the Barker Grade School on Garretts Fork. She also cooked at the Boy Scout Camp on Garretts Fork. She was a member of the Shining Light Baptist Church on Crawley Creek Road before moving to Flint to be near her children. Edna enjoyed quilting and working in her flowers.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Clayton “Tommy” Blevins, and daughter, Sandra K. (Thomas) Wilson, both of Flint; two grandsons, Clayton “Scott” Wilson and William Joseph “Billy Joe” Blevins, both of Flint; one granddaughter, DeeAnna Carroll Shaw of Flint; stepchildren, Pauline (Jerry) Corbett of Live Oak, Fla., Ida Mae Norris, Paul Albright and Eugene Albright, all of Lake City, Fla., and Juanita Harden of Providence, Fla.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 6, at the Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Sherman Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pridemore Cemetery at Garretts Fork of Chapmanville.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
