Born May 11, 1955, at Man, he was a son of Gladys Workman Brickles of Cyclone and the late Carlos Brickles. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Watt and Lena May Hager Adkins, Arnold and Perlina Bailes Workman, and Hile and Barbara Swimm Brickles; one brother, Ronnie Brickles, and two sisters, Brenda Brickles Hager Kunkle and Loretta Morgan.
Jimmy was a disabled coal miner. He attended Ocean High School and the Honda Marine School in New Jersey. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Terry (Lynn) Brickles of Cyclone, Jason (Manda) Brickles of Elkins and Cody Brickles of Madison; six sisters, Maxine (Fred) Deer of Cyclone, Elaine (Mason) Grimmett of Mallory, and Fada (Raymond) Neece, Kathy Brickles, Barbara Legg and Polly Higgs, all of Ohio; four brothers, Larry (Linda) Brickles, Harold Brickles, Allan Brickles and J.R. Brickles, all of Ohio; five grandchildren, Blake, Lance, Sheyenne, Savannah and Tosha; one great-grandson, Caidan; two special friends, Sandra Morgan and Pam Clay; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will commence at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, at the Campus Church of God with Pastor Roger Stewart, assisted by Rev. Jim Frazier, officiating. Jimmy will be laid to rest at the Isaac-Sloane Cemetery at West Hamlin.
Pallbearers will be Mason Grimmett, Tony Grimmett, Freddy Deer, Richard Deer, Edward Brickles Jr. and Anthony Glover.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
