CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Gene Browning, 67, of Tims Fork of Chapmanville, was born April 14, 1943, at Big Ugly, a son of the late Van Browning and Eva Eplin Brewster. He departed this life Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Also preceding him in death was a sister, Arletta Young.

Mr. Browning was a general laborer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at Chapmanville.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Conley Browning; his children, David A. (Melissa) Browning of Florida, Danny L. (Tina) Browning and James E. (Junnie) Browning, both of North Carolina, Betsy S. Browning of Charleston, Laura G. (Bill) Herndon of Switzer, and Lisa A. (Grant) Butcher, Elizabeth Browning, Gina R. (Jason) Corrick, Gene Browning II, Pedro (Trish) Belcher and Lee Belcher, all of Chapmanville; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Roger Brewster of Barboursville and Richard Brewster and Robert Brewster, both of New Jersey, and sisters, Brenda Miller of South Carolina, Carrie Locko of Ohio and Carol Elkins of Chapmanville.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 14, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. John Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Cemetery at Chapmanville.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
