HARTS, W.Va. — Clifford Buren (Mark-ham) Marcum, 85, of Toney Addition of Harts, departed this life Thursday, January 13, 2011, at his residence.

Born April 24, 1925, in Kilsyth, he was a son of the late James S. and Fannie Hinkle Markham. Also preceding him in death were 13 brothers and three sisters.

Clifford was a World War II Army veteran, one of nine sons that served in World War II and a self-employed contractor of Marcum Drywall. He loved dogs, especially “Little Daisy”.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Virginia Belle Fowler Marcum of Harts; one daughter, Charmaine Marcum (Gary) Fonduk of Chapmanville; one brother, Claude F. Markham of Huntington; two grandchildren, Danita M. (Tim) Hamlin of Rome, Ohio, and Jordan M. Mullins of Huntington; and one great-grandson, Brock Ryzon Hamlin of Rome.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Richard “Dickie” Blevins and Bill Mitchell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tim Hamlin, Steve Fowler, Mike Mitchell, Bill Mitchell, Chris Kirk and Wilford Browning.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
