Logan takes another bad blow

The closure of Logan Wholesale is another bad blow to the city of Logan and the business community of southern West Virginia.

For more than 25 years, Logan Wholesale has been the top foodservice provider in our area and we hate to see it close down.

Just when the city is starting to rebound with the cleanup of the Aracoma Hotel demolition and the Holland Lane Parking Garage getting set to come down, Logan is hit with the news that one of its oldest businesses is closing.

We hope that some other business can come into the space left vacant by Logan Wholesale. It would be a big boost to the city's economy to have another business operating out of the location there on Dingess Street.

We wish the Cox family well in its future endeavors and we say thanks for all the years they kept Logan Wholesale running in downtown Logan.

Now, the city needs to look to the future and try to attract some other business to fill the empty building.
